Congress President SoniaFormer President Pranab Mukherjee, Congress President Sonia Gandhi replied that Vice President Rahul Gandhi will be elevated to the top post in the not too distant a future. According to Sonia, the move will be done soon. A number of state units of Congress, as well as top leaders, have been clamoring for Rahul to be appointed new president in place of Sonia as soon as possible. However, Rahul himself has been reticent about his plans although this week he did indicate his willingness to take up the job.
