Amit Shah Says BJP Victory in 2019 Now Convinced: BJP chief Amit Shah today said that the party was elated at its stunning victory in both Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat Assembly elections.
“This is a happy day for us. We are forming a government in both Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat. I want to thank the people of both the states for showing trust in Modiji’s Vikas yatra,” said Shah.
Shah added that the victory of BJP in 2019 Lok Sabha election now seems certain.
“Since 1990, we have not lost in Gujarat. This is our sixth consecutive win. Our vote share has gone up compared to 2012. As per latest figures, it is 49.5 percent this time. This is a rejection of casteist politics,” said Shah.
In a sharp attack on the Congress, Shah said that the Grand Old Party kept trying to pull them down. “Modi’s politics of performance has been trusted by Gujarat,” said Shah.
“We have won Himachal by a massive margin. We have won 48.50 percent votes. It’s a 10 percent jump over our figures in 2012. Himachal wanted to join the Vikas bandwagon and this is a result of that,” added Shah.
Shah also said that the BJP is confident of winning the Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya and Karnataka Assembly elections.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted expressing his gratitude towards the people and congratulated BJP workers for their hard work.
PM Modi tweeted, “I bow to the people of Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh for their affection and trust in BJP. I assure them that we will leave no stone unturned in furthering the development journey of these states and serve the people tirelessly.”
In a subsequent tweet, PM Modi said that the results in both the states indicate a strong support for “politics of good governance and development”.
In another tweet, Shah said, “Thank you to all those from Himachal Pradesh who believed in the development policies of the government led by Narendra Modi and gave us a huge majority. I also thank all our party karyakartas and congratulate Satpal Singh Satti and Prem Kumar Dhumal.”
